Bella Vista’s Bond Extension and Radio Tower Project Point to Public-Service Growth

Bella Vista’s recent city funding decisions show how the city is trying to keep up with service demands tied to growth. In 2025, voters approved a one-cent sales tax bond extension with more than 70% support. The city described the measure as an extension of an existing tax, not a new tax or tax increase, intended to help fund additional city projects while consolidating and paying off remaining balances from prior bonds.

The project list tied to that funding includes paying off existing debt, fire and city administration complex work, a new Fire Station 5 in the south-central part of the city, street department equipment and paving projects, and police department improvements. The police-related items include three new radio towers for police, fire, EMS, and streets, along with two years of police vehicle costs.

That radio tower need is already showing up in city project activity. Bella Vista issued RFQ 26-01 for an Emergency Services Radio Tower Project, seeking qualified firms for professional services such as engineering, architectural, construction management, and land surveying for a radio tower project for the city’s emergency services.

The larger takeaway is that Bella Vista’s growth story is not just about new homes. It is also about the city building the public safety, street, and administrative infrastructure needed to serve a larger and more active population. These projects may not be as visible as commercial development, but they are central to how the city functions over time.
