Expanded Police Capabilities Through Body Camera Grants

The Rogers Police Department is set to expand its body-worn camera program thanks to a $75,000 grant from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety. The grant will be used to purchase additional cameras, upgrade the department’s on-site server, and integrate the new equipment with its existing records management system.

The department has selected Turn-Key Mobile, Inc. as the supplier for the equipment, citing compatibility with its current technology infrastructure. The total cost of the project is estimated at $130,000, with additional funds coming from the city’s budget.

In a resolution to be considered by the City Council, competitive bidding requirements will be waived to expedite the purchase. Police Chief Johnathan Best emphasized the importance of the upgrades, stating, “This new technology will enhance officer accountability, improve transparency, and strengthen community trust.”
