Bella Vista Amends 2025 Budget to Reallocate Unspent Donations
At the April 21 work session, the Bella Vista City Council reviewed a resolution to amend the 2025 city budget, re-appropriating unspent donation revenue from 2024 into various departments.
The reallocations primarily involve donations originally intended for specific programs or projects that were either delayed or came in under budget last year. By carrying the funds forward, the City ensures that community donations are used as intended while maintaining transparency and proper fiscal management.
Finance Director Kim Hall emphasized that this adjustment does not involve any new spending or tax increases. Instead, it reflects the City’s practice of assigning unused funds to their designated purposes rather than allowing them to lapse into the general fund.
A detailed breakdown of the re-appropriated funds was included in the meeting packet, with departments such as Parks and Recreation, the Library, and Public Safety benefiting from the donations.
The resolution will go before the City Council for final approval at the next regular meeting.
