Bentonville Unveils $24.5M Capital Improvement Plan Focused on Infrastructure and Public Safety

Bentonville is preparing to adopt a new five-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) that outlines $24.5 million in projects for 2024 alone, with a focus on safety, infrastructure, and sustainability as the city continues to experience rapid growth.

Key highlights of the 2024 plan include:

  • Improvements to NW 3rd Street to enhance traffic flow and pedestrian access.

  • Construction of Fire Station #7 to serve the city's expanding western edge.

  • Major utility upgrades, including water and sewer expansions.

  • Investments in pedestrian and bike infrastructure, funded in part by state and federal grants.

The CIP is funded through a combination of city revenues, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), state transportation aid, and utility funds. Bentonville leaders say the plan reflects both immediate priorities and long-term goals as the city adapts to a surge in residential and commercial development.
