🚦 New Pedestrian Crossing Approved for Walnut and 5th

Pedestrian safety is getting a major upgrade in downtown Rogers. The City Council approved a contract with All Service Electric, Inc. to install a HAWK (High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk) signal at the intersection of 5th Street and Walnut Street.

The project will cost $91,940.25, and competitive bidding was waived due to the contractor’s exclusive capacity to deliver the signal within the city’s timeline.

The new crossing is designed to improve visibility and safety for pedestrians in a growing corridor that sees regular foot traffic. The HAWK signal system allows drivers to be alerted by flashing lights when pedestrians activate the crosswalk, offering a safer alternative to traditional crossings.
