Rogers Police Department to Upgrade Computers and Field Equipment

In a move to strengthen technology for police operations, the Rogers City Council is considering a resolution to fund major equipment upgrades for the Police Department.

The proposal would reallocate $59,945 for new office computers, monitors, and iPads, and appropriate an additional $45,616 from general fund reserves for the purchase of new Toughbook laptops for use in the field.

Police officials said the upgrades are necessary to replace aging technology and maintain operational efficiency, particularly for patrol officers who rely on rugged, mobile equipment for field reporting and communications.

If approved, the funding adjustments will come from the city's IT capital and computer expense accounts
