City Appropriates $80,000 to Repair Recycling Center Baler
The Rogers City Council will allocate $80,000 from general fund reserves to repair critical equipment at the city's recycling center.
Council members reviewed a resolution on April 22 that would fund the purchase of a new replacement cylinder for the baler machine, which compresses recyclables for processing. The part will be purchased from Waste Processing Equipment Inc. of Rainsville, Alabama.
Officials noted that competitive bidding requirements are being waived due to the need for a manufacturer-specific part to ensure the baler operates correctly. Without the repair, recycling operations could face significant disruptions.
Funding will be drawn from the Equipment Maintenance account, ensuring that repairs can proceed without delay
